Support YouPraise
YouPraise is free – and it will stay that way.
Still, it doesn't run for free: the server YouPraise runs on, the domain and everything that goes with it cost money every month. And YouPraise was built over many evenings and weekends, entirely in my spare time.
If you like YouPraise and would like to support my work, I'd be truly grateful for a contribution. It helps cover the running costs – and it shows me that the effort is worth it.
Thank you for being part of it! – Jannes

Questions and answers
That's me, Jannes Böttcher – so far all on my own. At some point, though, I'd like to found a registered association (e.V.) for it.
That's my company. It only takes care of the hosting, i.e. the server YouPraise runs on – and that's exactly where the costs come from. I developed the platform itself entirely on the side, in my spare time.
Yes – and it's meant to stay that way forever. Listening, discovering and publishing your own songs: all without a subscription or paywall.
No, and I don't want to. Your support goes exclusively towards the running costs of the site. I don't want to make a profit with YouPraise.
Heaven forbid! As long as I can possibly avoid it, absolutely not.
My heartfelt thanks – but nothing else, and that's intentional. Your support is voluntary and comes with nothing in return. YouPraise is the same for everyone, whether they give or not.
No, neither. There's no invoice because you're not buying anything. And only charitable organizations may issue donation receipts – YouPraise isn't an association (yet). Unfortunately, that means you can't deduct your support from your taxes.
Only songs that belong to you or that you hold the necessary rights to – and only if they aren't already under a GEMA or similar license that rules out publishing them here. The details are in the Terms of use.
In 99% of cases: no. The original must not be under a GEMA or similar license that forbids it – and that probably applies to more than 99% of all the songs you know. Covers of songs published here on YouPraise under a suitable Creative Commons license, on the other hand, are very welcome. Just add the original as a reference when you publish.
Licenses from GEMA, Germany's music rights society, are designed for the commercial exploitation of songs: artists get a share of the income generated with their songs. YouPraise, however, has no commercial purpose at all. The platform is there for songwriters who write songs in praise of the Lord as volunteers, simply because it's on their heart. Here they can share their songs and make them available to Christians beyond their own town and region.
Of course! Tell your church about YouPraise, share songs that touch you, or publish your own. And if you notice something or have an idea, feel free to write to me via the feedback page.
